Making the seats fit

The Nova seat area is quite narrow, especially if you have dropped the floor pans. Very few (almost none) commercial reclining seats will fit in a Nova. I wanted to have recliners and found a pair of Recaro seats out of an old 3.0L Capri in the scrap yard. They were too wide to fit so I set about cutting 1 1/2 inches out of the middle and then fitting every thing back on them.

The Recaro seats were very sturdy and had a very slimline base which I needed to maximise headroom in my MK I Nova.

After the section was cut out of the middle it was welded back together and the trim put back on

The finished seat will need re- trimming and the headrest also still needs narrowing to follow the lines of the back of the seat.

I haven't decided yet quite how I want to trim the seats (colour and

style), so this job is still a work in progress. Updates to follow once trimmed.
