After trial and error with the radiator mounting position (I had tried at the rear, then rear arches) I opted for a front mounted solution. I used the original Alfa Romeo radiator slanted forward to fit. I then mounted the aircon condenser radiator in front of that

I cut two big holes out of the front of the body tub to allow air to flow onto the radiator cores
I then modified the MK 1 undertray to direct the air into the main body tub rather than to the brakes as it was originally.

The modified intakes align to the holes cut in the front of the body tub.
Finally large mess grills were placed over the inlet holes to trap leaves and road debris

Then I put an aluminium cover on the top to trap the air, coupled with some fibreglass panels at the sides of the radiator. This effectively ensures all air flow goes into the radiator cores rather than escaping elsewhere

The finished solution works well and I used a separate kenlowe thermostat to manually set when the electric fan kicks in
I used an aftermarket header tank and made up a custom bracket to mount it next to the engine at the rear

Once mounted the header tank is the highest point in the system helping ensure airlocks do not form
I made up a custom pulley to allow for the extra belt to drive the aircon compressor

I also made up a custom bracket using a spare engine I had to hand. The compressor will be mounted to this
Finally with the compressor mounted

I used a combined heater / aircon unit to fit under the dashboard. Here it is mounted (minus the dashboard).
It’s still a work in progress and the final wiring, plumbing and testing is outstanding
